Entrusting The Journey

Some journeys begin with excitement and anticipation. Others begin because life changed, a door closed, or the road simply turned in a direction we never expected.
Entrusting The Journey captures that quieter kind of traveling—the path we walk when we cannot see very far ahead. A weathered fence stretches beside still water, autumn leaves drift softly through the air, and a well-worn quilt rests across the rail as though someone has paused here for just a little while.
Life is rarely traveled in a straight line.
There are winding roads we never expected to walk, seasons that linger longer than we imagined, and paths we would never have chosen for ourselves.
Yet through every mile, God remains faithful.
He asks us not to see the entire journey before taking the next step, but simply to place each day into His hands, trusting that He already knows the way ahead.
That kind of trust can be difficult.
We want maps.
We want answers.
We want to know where the road is leading and how long it will take to get there.
But faith so often asks something different of us.
Entrust the road to Me.
Psalm 37:5 does not promise that we will understand every turn. It simply tells us where to place the journey: “Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.”
There is such tenderness in that promise.
We can give Him the road we understand and the road we don't. The plans that unfolded beautifully and the ones that fell apart. The places we willingly chose and the places life seemed to carry us without asking.
And along the way, grace meets us.
Like a well-worn quilt waiting along the path, His grace is always near—covering us when the air grows cold, comforting us when we grow weary, and reminding us that we never walk alone.
Perhaps entrusting the journey does not mean becoming certain about where we are going.
Perhaps it means becoming certain about Who goes with us.
One step.
One day.
One bend in the road at a time.
May you find peace in knowing that every step entrusted to Him is held securely in His care.
“Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.”
Psalm 37:5 (ESV)
