Moses
Bathed in shadow and light, the aged face of Moses tells the story of a life lived in the presence of God. His silver hair and flowing beard mark the years of wilderness journeys, of mountains climbed, and of countless prayers lifted on behalf of his people. His downcast eyes suggest not defeat, but humility—the weight of leadership borne, the faithfulness of God remembered, and the hope of promises yet to come.
“Moses” captures the essence of a servant who walked closely with the Lord, speaking with Him “face to face, as one speaks to a friend” (Exodus 33:11). The accompanying words from Deuteronomy 31:8 echo the faith Moses carried to his final days: “It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; He will not leave you nor forsake you. Do not fear nor be dismayed.”
This painting is not only a portrait of an ancient prophet but a timeless reminder for every believer—that the God who guided Moses through trials, triumphs, and wilderness wanderings is the same God who goes before us, steady and unchanging.
