If Only One More Time
They stand together, leaning into the vast horizon as if time has folded back upon itself. The ocean whispers of eternity, steady and endless, and in that moment the world feels whole again. The warmth of an embrace, the comfort of presence, the simple gift of silence shared — if only we could hold it one more time.
Grief carries us here often, to the longing of “if only.” Yet even in the ache, there is a promise that what is lost for now is not lost forever. “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death, or mourning, or crying, or pain, for the old order of things has passed away” (Revelation 21:4).
And so we cling to the memory, the love that endures beyond time, and the hope of reunion where the sea no longer separates and the horizon is unbroken.
