Held In His Peace
Amid crashing waves and storm-tossed skies, a lighthouse stands tall and unyielding. Thunder roars through the heavens, winds howl, and the sea pounds relentlessly at the rocky shore, yet the tower’s light pierces the darkness—steady, constant, unafraid. It is not the absence of storms that makes the lighthouse strong, but its rootedness on solid rock and its faithful purpose to shine no matter what rages around it.
This scene is a portrait of the soul that clings to Christ in the midst of sorrow, trial, and grief and struggles. Though the storms of life threaten to overwhelm, God’s Word promises that “the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7). Like the lighthouse, His presence is steadfast. His truth guards us when our emotions sway. His light cuts through the darkest night, guiding us safely toward hope.
“Held In His Peace” reminds us that while storms are inevitable, they are not final. The One who calms the sea also guards His children, holding their hearts with a peace the world cannot explain, and a strength that will not be shaken.
