Adrift
Adrift captures the haunting quiet of a soul caught between where it has been and where it longs to go. A lone figure sits in a small boat upon endless waters, rain falling gently, clouds heavy with uncertainty. There is no clear direction, no shore in sight—only the stillness of being carried by currents unseen. It is the picture of grief, of seasons when the heart feels unanchored, when life’s storms blur the horizon, and questions outweigh answers.
Yet even in this place of drifting, there is a sacred truth: you are never truly alone. Just as Jesus stilled the waves with a word, He is present here, in the silence, in the rain, in the waiting. His Spirit hovers over the waters, guiding the unseen tides. “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you.” (Isaiah 43:1–2)
This painting becomes a reminder that adrift does not mean abandoned. Even when the world feels vast and directionless, God’s love is the anchor beneath the surface—steady, sure, and unshakable.
“The soul may drift, but the Savior never lets go.”
