Ruffled
Nestled against the weathered boards of a rustic barn, a tiny bird sits perched upon a bed of straw, its feathers slightly tousled as though brushed by the wind. The soft, downy plumage and wide, watchful eyes capture both innocence and resilience—a reminder of the fragile strength woven into even the smallest of creatures. The rough textures of rust and wood stand in contrast to the bird’s delicate form, creating a harmony of ruggedness and tenderness, survival and beauty.
“Ruffled” speaks of life’s moments when we too feel unsettled, yet still held within God’s care. Like the sparrow that does not fall without His notice (Matthew 10:29), this painting whispers of His faithful protection, even when our own feathers are ruffled by the storms of life.
